I'm losing weight but now it's on purpose
Hey friends,
It’s already November . . . I cannot believe it is actually already November? I mean, where has the time gone? And what is time?
These types of terrible and terribly existential questions are the handy work of the Coronavirus that has thrown all of our lives into almost complete disarray.
My family and I can’t complain too much, however. I mean, we have this gorgeous view of the ocean, the people here are friendly and the food is delicious.
And as a self-proclaimed foodie, I am so happy to be in a place with good food. People here show love with food, and that’s simply the best kind of love, especially this year. One of my good friends brought us some pork rinds yesterday . . . now if that ain’t love, I don’t know what is.
So, I’m obviously eating to my hearts’ content, but my body has decided to flip me the proverbial bird. I can’t tell if it’s the food, or maybe being squarely in my mid-30’s, or perhaps there’s very literally something in the water, but y’all . . . my poop. It’s just . . . let me just say that if it is a party going in it’s a nightmare coming out, okay?!
Which makes me a little sad for obvious reasons - most notably because I am having to eat less to get my gut health back in check. However, the little blessing here is that I have lost some weight and I am keeping it off.
I mean, this is the first time in a really long time that my weight is on the downward trend and I am here for it.
Y’all, when I met my husband, I was a full 50 pounds lighter . . . f.i.f.t.y. whole pounds. Now, that’s a lot of “love” over the years, but it’s time to get this body back in check.
So I’ve decided to exercise more and eat less. Groundbreaking, right?
But beyond that, I think I have to legit cut a few food groups completely out of my diet. Red meat is the most interesting one so far. Every time I eat red meat, I feel ill . . . to the point where I don’t even crave burgers any more.
And I friggin love a good cheeseburger . . . there’s nothing better than a big ol’ juicy, medium burger with a soft brioche bun, fresh veg and beautiful sauces. But writing this down makes me want to gag because my body is actually rejecting red meat.
Yay for getting older, lol!
Food used to make me happy (which was a bad thing), but I’m going to start learning a new art, like how to make better cocktails. Because, who doesn’t love a fabulous cocktail, right?
And once Ms. Rona finally kicks the bucket, Bae and I are headed to a spa retreat because mama hasn’t had a massage in a month-a-sundays.
In the meantime, I’m just going to work out and pray for a solid stool someday, lol.
Happy Monday, y’all!
Yours always,
The Trendy One
