That Time I Got Salmonella Poisoning . . .

Hey y’all,

I took a little summer break from blogging and podcasting to get settled into my new home and my new job, but I am officially back now that Bae and I are settled on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

That’s right, Ms. Rona . . . Suck it! I bet you won’t find me here!

But I spoke too soon because I ate some bad chicken the other day and got Salmonella poisoning instead. I was out for the count for about a week - and if I’m being honest, I’m still feeling pretty bad, but things could be worse I suppose. I mean, I lost 15 pounds in the process so . . . #winning!

2020 has been “eventful” to say the least … but it is difficult to describe what it feels like to finally not be living out of a suitcase. I mean, this is literally the first time that my husband and I are living together since we got married 3 and a half years ago.

So of course, we are trying to make it a home … the deal is that Bae gets to design most of the house with the exception of my office which will also serve as a gym and sound studio.

And we are doing all of this home designing because we had every intention of having a bustling home full of life and people and events and travelers. I can just picture my mama an nem chilling out with margaritas in the pool while we sunbathe on the rooftop! It will eventually be glorious.

But let’s be real - The Rona is here to stay at least through 2021 so we will just be sipping cocktails, poolside, by ourselves until she dies a horrible, nasty death.

For those of you who don’t live on an island, winter is indeed coming with all of its’ implied foreboding. Do me a favor and keep yourselves safe … This pandemic is going to get worse before it gets better.

In the meantime, at least help me make you laugh with the latest episode of the “Family We Choose” available on all major platforms!
