Ms. Rona is playing zero games and mama is baking for the gawds!
Hey y’all,
Happy Easter! I know this one is especially difficult for some of you because of that old hateful heffa Ms. Rona (Ronnie if you nasty), but we will all do well to remember that staying home and social distancing saves lives.
I have to admit that the I am super discouraged by the people in our neighborhood who simply refuse to stay home. In fact, people are outside now more than ever on account of the amazing weather, but in practical terms, we all have to be in this thing together or we are gonna be stuck in this apartment forever and ain’t nobody got time for that!
Now, lots of folks have been asking me, “are you and bae killing each other now that you guys are stuck in the house?”
The short answer is “not even close!” I don’t mean to be vulgar, but we are in baby making mode and we honestly couldn’t be happier, lol. It’s a fair question though, so I will say that beyond the carnal gratification, we are also actively trying to be kinder to each other and more accommodating given that we share about 700 square feet.
Luckily, we’ve been practicing this whole “nesting” thing together for a while and, in the meantime, I’ve really learned how to cook and bake (although I haven’t ironed not one shirt since 2019). When I get bored, I’ve taken to baking cakes. My latest? A two layer vanilla cake with a blueberry jam middle layer and spearmint butter cream. It sounds like a lot but it comes together quite nicely … just like me :-)
Besides Portuguese training, this blog, baking and putting a million miles on my stationary bike, my best friend and I are passing the time with our brand new podcast, “the family we choose” now on all streaming platforms. Go check us out on iTunes or Spotify and don’t forget to like / subscribe!
How are you guys? I want to be serious for just a moment and say that if you need anything (a phone call, some food) please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are all in this together.
Peace and blessings to all of you!
